Imperfect Orchestra celebrates 10 years with Concert and Crowdfunder
Imperfect Orchestra are 10 YEARS OLD! And to celebrate, have announced an exciting new project on the 17th February.
TIO have always been a non-profit outfit, opening up their projects to anyone and everyone that would like to join them in the opportunity to perform in ambitious projects.
But decided that the time has come to raise money to keep their work going. Therefore, they have set up a CrowdFunder for their latest performance - an evening of music, moving image and celebration.
Tickets for the event and many other great rewards are available. They said: "Since 2013, The Imperfect Orchestra (TIO) have been writing, performing and collaborating with many artists and filmmakers in Plymouth and beyond on projects as diverse as Plymphony No.1 in Sea (a free-form acoustic guitar mega jam on Plymouth Hoe) to a 17-piece orchestral score for Battleship Potemkin at the University of Plymouth. We had great plans for our most community-focused project to date as part of the Mayflower 400 Commemorations in 2020, but the pandemic put those plans out of action. Since then, we’ve been regrouping and looking for our next project and thinking about the future of TIO."
That has arrived in the form of DECADE, a 10 year anniversary show at The House (University of Plymouth) on February 17th, where they will be revisiting their first piece HOME featuring many of the original members, a whole slew of performers from across our back catalogue and a brand new segment created by HOME’s original filmmakers Allister Gall and Dan Paolantonio of Imperfect Cinema.
The night will also feature a brand new collaborative project with Polish artist Patrycja Loranc, and a double-bill from local filmmaker/soundtrack duo Lee Gerrard and Jack Harris. This promises to be an amazing night!
