Plymouth Scrapstore popup brings playful creativity to Plymouth City Centre
We welcome you to our November Popup in the Community Climate Centre, (old Waterstones shop ,near WH Smiths on New George Street).
Find out about what we do at Plymouth Scrapstore, if you fancy, join in and get playful, explore the resources, perhaps you’ll feel inspired to stay awhile and get creative.
Visit us on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons 12 - 4pm during November at our Popup at Plymouth Community Climate Centre, 67 New George Street, Plymouth, PL1 1EA
2 and 3 November - Welcome to Plymouth Scrapstore Popup - drop in to find out what we do, perhaps stop for a drink and a chat, take a look at Scrapstore ‘bags of loveliness’ which include samples of the items we have available to buy in our shop on Union Street.
9 and 10 November - Scrap Fabric Challenge - find out how to make a draught excluder, thermal cooking bag, or rummage our fabric supplies and see what captures your imagination. Sewing machine available to use.
16 and 17 November - Repair, Make and Mend - interested in sharing your mending skills? or seeking ideas to help you repair something, come along and chat to the Scrapstore and friends about what could be possible.
23 and 24 November - Festive Cards - remind someone you are thinking of them, make a unique card to send your warm wishes.
Making sessions are FREE, no cost to join in using the materials provided by Plymouth Scrapstore.
A selection of resources from Plymouth Scrapstore will be available to buy, including ‘bags of loveliness’ at a cost of £3.

A scrapstore is an organisation which collects items that would otherwise be thrown away and offers them for re-use. Scrapstores are a fantastic resource for community groups and individuals who are in need of affordable art and craft materials. The range of materials in the scrapstore changes from day to day.
Scrapstores can take a variety of waste as long as it could be reused for creative art materials. This can be as diverse as cardboard tubes, sheets of die cut plastic, containers small and large, offcuts of paper, card and textiles, paint, canvas, posters, wallpaper, paper cups, foam, fabric, string, cord, ribbon and string. The list is truly endless.
The Meanwhile Use project is part of the delivery programme for the Interreg-funded C-Care Project and Historic England’s High Street Heritage Action Zone programme.
