The Box is Plymouth’s award-winning museum, art gallery and archive.

The Box brings six outstanding collections of art, human history, natural history, film, photography and archival material together, showcased in a series of exciting spaces.
It also has a fun and ambitious programme of events and exhibitions on offer throughout the year. This autumn, it's one of the host venues for 'British Art Show 9' - the UK's most ambitious touring exhibition of contemporary art.
In addition to its standard opening hours of 10am-5pm Tuesday to Sunday, The Box is open from 10am-5pm on Easter, May and August Bank Holidays. It's closed on the Christmas and New Year Bank Holidays. The Cottonian Research Room is available by appointment Tuesday to Saturday.
