The Arts Institute
The Arts Institute is the curated public arts programme operating from within the Faculty of Arts serving as the arts and culture public programming organisation for the University of Plymouth.
The Arts Institute hosts The Levinsky Gallery; a space for engaging contemporary artworks, the Jill Craigie Cinema; screening a range of classic and contemporary cinematic masterpieces, and The House; a state of the art performing arts centre for musical performances and concerts as well as fascinating talks opening up the world of art, literature and history.
The year-round programme supports established, new and emerging artists from around the world including exhibitions, music, film, public lectures, and theatre and dance/ performance.
One of the principle aims of The Arts Institute is to provide access to a programme of wide-ranging high quality arts and cultural experiences, which is informed by the expertise, research and scholarship of the University and its partners, to the communities of Plymouth and the South West and visitors to the region.
